| Description | Spatial Focus was retained by Robeson County to quality control property parcel mapping. Parcel mapping was being done on a deeds research and subdivision plat map conversion basis. Quality review included checking the geometry of parcels against source documents, reviewing boundaries overlaid on orthophotos, and checking the data deliveries for instances of duplicate parcel numbers, missing parcels, incorrect parcel numbering and related anomalies. Reports were provided to Robeson County and to their conversion vendor via an interactive web site, which made the QC reports available at all times, and permitted both Robeson County staff and vendor staff to respond to comments. In some cases, where deed research was needed, the County provided additional information to both the vendor and Spatial Focus, allowing us to review our comments, and verify corrections. The project was completed on time. Spatial Focus was also asked by the County to work with E-911/Sheriff's Office and other departments to develop a comprehensive plan for cleaning up address data, and to provide a database design for overall GIS implementation. |
