Madison County Voter Address Improvement and Electoral Geography GIS Project

Description	Spatial Focus was retained to create a GIS-based map of Madison County's election precincts, electoral geography and related data, and to quality control the voter database against this geography to ensure that every voter was voting in the proper combination of districts, and at the correct precinct. Voter addresses were linked to property parcels, and the parcel map of the county was superimposed upon the precinct and electoral geography maps. Quality control reviewed the voter records as to their precinct and electoral districts against the mapped information, and provided a list of corrections needed to the County. The maintenance application was developed in Quantum GIS and PostgreSQL database, using Safe Software's FME to translate between existing parcel maps from the Tax Assessor, and the election district files of the Registrar of Voters.
