| Description | The City of Birmingham had an older DOS-based permitting system that did not manage addresses well. In the process of converting to a newer, relational database system for permit tracking, address data needed to be extracted from the old system, standardized, cleaned and geocoded to insure that it was correct. Data mapping of the cleaned addresses and all associated attribute data was completed by Spatial Focus to permit moving the data smoothly from the old system to the new. Spatial Focus did the data standardization, parsing and cleanup, and quality controlled the resulting address data against the GIS maps and other city data. |
